Why Unity on Biblical Principles Matters
At New Wine Church, we believe that true unity is not built on preference, culture, or personality, but on shared biblical truth. For a church to walk in spiritual strength, relational health, and Kingdom effectiveness, its members must be grounded in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith.
Church membership is not merely an expression of belonging; it is a declaration of alignment—with Christ, with Scripture, and with the God-given vision of the local church. For this reason, one of the purposes of membership is to affirm that those who choose to become part of New Wine Church share a common foundation of faith and are committed to walking together in truth.
We honor and celebrate the diversity of personal gifts, callings, and spiritual experiences that make the Church a living, vibrant body. At the same time, we recognize that Christ-centered belief and biblical conviction are essential for building lasting relationships and advancing the mission of the Kingdom of God. Unity in doctrine does not suppress individuality; rather, it creates a strong framework within which spiritual life can flourish.
Our Beliefs – Our Doctrine
Christology – What We Believe About Christ
(Christos = Christ · logia = study)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal, pre-existent Son of God, who existed before the creation of time
(John 1:1–3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:2).
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the perfect revelation of God to humanity
(Philippians 2:6; John 10:30; Colossians 2:9).
We believe in the incarnation of Christ, that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us
(John 1:14; 1 John 4:2; Romans 8:3).
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23).
We believe in the sinless life, substitutionary death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ for the salvation of humanity
(Matthew 27:45–56; 1 Corinthians 15:1–19).
We believe that Christ now functions as our Great High Priest, continually interceding for the Church
(Hebrews 5).
We believe that healing is available in Christ through His atoning work
(Isaiah 53:3–5).
Pneumatology – What We Believe About the Holy Spirit
(Pneuma = Spirit · logia = study)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third Person of the Trinity
(Acts 16:7; 1 Corinthians 6:11; John 14:16–17).
We believe in the pre-existence of the Holy Spirit and His activity throughout Scripture
(Genesis 1:26).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the work of salvation, convicting, regenerating, and empowering believers
(1 Corinthians 12:3).
We believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the writing of Scripture
(2 Peter 1:21).
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience following salvation, given for personal empowerment and spiritual devotion
(Acts 2:38; 8:14–17; 10:44–48).
We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers the Church with spiritual gifts for ministry and edification
(1 Corinthians 12:1–11; Romans 12:6–8).
We believe that believers are called to live in ongoing fellowship with the Holy Spirit
(2 Corinthians 13:14).
Trinitology – What We Believe About the Trinity
(Tri-unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Although the word Trinity does not appear in Scripture, the concept is clearly revealed in both the Old and New Testaments
(Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 3:16–17; 1 Corinthians 12:4–6).
Each Person of the Godhead has distinct roles, yet they are one in essence, power, and glory.
Anthropology – What We Believe About Humanity
(Anthropos = mankind · logia = study)
We believe that God has a divine purpose for every human being
(Romans 8:32–37).
We believe that every person is uniquely gifted by God for service and ministry
(Romans 11:29).
We believe that humanity was created to worship God through praise, creativity, and expression
(Psalm 150).
We believe that human beings possess free moral agency, the ability to choose and respond to God
(Genesis 2–3).
We believe that Adam was the first man, created without sin, whose fall introduced sin into humanity
(Genesis 3; Romans 3:23).
We believe that marriage is a divine institution, established by God between one man and one woman, intended for lifelong covenant and reflecting Christ and the Church
(Genesis 1:27–28; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 19:1–7).
We believe in the sanctity of marriage, while also affirming God’s grace, forgiveness, and restoration for those who have experienced brokenness.
Soteriology – What We Believe About Salvation
(Soteria = salvation · logia = study)
We believe that all humanity is born under the consequence of sin
(Romans 6:23).
We believe that salvation is made available solely through Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation involves regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification
(John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 5:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:3).
We believe that believers are progressively transformed into the image of Christ by the Holy Spirit, culminating in eternal glory
(1 Corinthians 15:54).
Bibliology – What We Believe About the Bible
(Biblos = book · logia = study)
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, given by the Holy Spirit
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe Scripture is both God’s eternal revelation (Logos) and His present, living Word (Rhema) to believers
(Romans 10:17).
Demonology – What We Believe About Satan and Spiritual Warfare
We believe in the reality of Satan and demonic powers
(Job 1; Isaiah 14:12–14).
We believe believers engage in spiritual warfare but do so from a position of Christ’s victory
(Colossians 2:15; Ephesians 6:12).
We believe the believer will ultimately triumph through Christ
(Revelation 12:11).
Ecclesiology – What We Believe About the Church
(Ekklesia = called-out ones)
We believe the local church is God’s chosen instrument for expressing the Kingdom of God on earth.
Jesus Christ is the Founder and Head of the Church
(Matthew 16:18; Colossians 1:18).
We believe every believer should belong to a local church
(Hebrews 10:25).
We believe in five-fold ministry leadership—Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers
(Ephesians 4:11).
We believe the church is called to justice, evangelism, missions, stewardship, and compassion
(Luke 4:18; Acts 1:8; Malachi 3:10).
Eschatology – What We Believe About the End Times
(Eschatos = last · logia = study)
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment
(1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20).
We believe in the reward of believers, the eternal destiny of heaven for the redeemed, and final judgment for the unrepentant
(2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 21).
